FORMULA Betamethasone 0.5 mg + Calcipotriol 50 mcg
TYPE Lotion

Calpsor-B Creamy Lotion 30 ml belongs to a class of topical medicines that are a combination of synthetic steroids (Glucocorticoid) and vitamin D derivative (calcipotriol). Calpsor-B Creamy Lotion 30 ml is prescribed for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions, particularly effective against skin conditions causing plaque patches, commonly seen in Psoriasis. The application of medicines in combination has proven to be more effective as compared to treatment with a single drug. Psoriasis is a skin disease that is inflammatory in nature and causes swelling, redness, itching, and dry flaky skin. Topical medicines can be prescribed alone or combined with oral drugs.

How Does Calpsor-B Creamy Lotion 30 ml Work

Calpsor-B Creamy Lotion 30 ml is more suited for inflammatory skin conditions with concurrent patches of plaque affecting it, commonly seen in Psoriasis. It works by acting on the skin via two basic mechanisms. Betamethasone being a Glucocorticoid controls the production of proteins that lead to inflammation by binding to Glucocorticoid receptors and it controls the infiltration and migration of inflammatory cells. The overall effect is decreased inflammation. Secondly, Calcipotriol helps control the rate of production of skin cells, which in excess is causing thickened skin patches. Calcipotriol brings down this overproduction of cells.
